HAMMOND, La. (WAFB) - A former Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office deputy has been arrested following an investigation into allegations of inappropriate conduct involving juveniles, according to the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office.
Mike Johnson, 61, was booked on four counts of indecent behavior with a juvenile and one count of malfeasance in office, according to TPSO. Johnson had worked as a deputy for nearly four years.
According to the sheriff’s office, investigators received information earlier this week that Johnson allegedly showed inappropriate photos to juveniles while working a recent security detail. He was immediately placed on administrative leave. After a full investigation, officials say he was terminated Friday afternoon and taken into custody shortly after.
