CHESAPEAKE, Va. — The Chesapeake NAACP and Virginia State Conference NAACP are demanding answers after a fight in a Chesapeake restaurant that led to a group of nine African American women being kicked out, even though they weren't involved.

"This is what we do. When we see cases of racism, cases of injustice, anywhere and everywhere, we call it out, and then work to rectify the situation," said Rev. Cozy Bailey, the president of the NAACP Virginia State Conference.

The women said they want to raise awareness and are considering legal action.

Shakoya Somerville-Holt told 13News Now on Friday morning that she and her friends are hanging in there, and will do what it takes to bring awareness to an unfortunate incident so it doesn't happen to anyone else.
