FREETOWN, Mass. —
A tow truck driver is dead after a crash pushed his vehicle off an overpass in Freetown, Massachusetts on Friday night.
According to the Massachusetts State Police, a tow truck was driving in the left travel lane on Route 140 south around 6 p.m. when it was struck by a vehicle in the right travel lane.
Investigators say the force of the crash pushed the tow truck from an overpass onto Washburn Road immediately below.
The driver of the tow truck was pronounced dead at the scene. Their identity is not being released at this time.
The other driver was uninjured and remained on scene, according to police.
The left travel lane of Route 140 south and Washburn Road remain closed.
