WHITESTOWN, Ind. —

An Indiana man accused of fatally shooting a cleaning worker who arrived at the wrong house is set to go on trial in March 2026.

Curt Anderson, 62, has been charged with voluntary manslaughter. If convicted, he faces 10 to 30 years in prison. Advertisement

The shooting happened on Nov. 5, north of Indianapolis in the suburban town of Whitestown.

Officers found Maria Florinda Rios Perez De Velasquez, 32, dead on the front porch of a home after authorities said she was part of a cleaning crew that went to the wrong house.

Police said just before 7 a.m., Anderson allegedly shot through the front door without warning, about a minute after someone was trying to unlock the door.
