HARTFORD, Conn. (WFSB) - Hartford Police arrested a convicted felon who allegedly threatened someone with a stolen firearm before hiding the weapon on a grocery store shelf.

Manuel Carrasquillo, 37, was arrested November 17 after officers responded to a threatening complaint involving a firearm in the area of Garden Street and Nelson Street.

The victim reported that Carrasquillo threatened them with a gun before leaving the scene, but provided officers with a clear description of the suspect.

As patrol units arrived in the area, officers observed Carrasquillo, who matched the description, enter La Caribeña Grocery on Nelson Street.

Officers watched as Carrasquillo placed a firearm onto a store shelf among stocked food items. He was detained and the firearm was recovered.
