PLYMOUTH, Minn. — Michael Herman helped get Moorhead off to an early lead and the Spuds scored three third-period goals to put away Edina 6-3 on Friday in Minnesota boys hockey.

In a rematch of last season's state semifinals, Edina stormed back quickly after falling behind 3-0. Tucker Johnson scored twice in 22 seconds — the latter on a penalty shot — to make it 3-2 in the second before Nash Paine tied the game four minutes later.

Moorhead's Tyden Bergeson, who had a team-high two assists, opened the third by wiring a shot past Wyatt Spindler from the left circle to put the Spuds back on top. Max Cullen and Joey Cullen, who took a nifty pass from Max Cullen from behind the net, followed with goals less than a minute apart later in the period.

The Spuds outshot the Hornets 33-25.
