LAFAYETTE, La. (KPLC) - A Mansura man will face life in prison for killing rideshare driver Ella Goodie, prosecutors say.

Brandon Jermaine Francisco, 39, pleaded guilty on Nov. 13, to committing a carjacking resulting in death with a binding and mandatory sentence of life in prison, according to prosecutors.

While pleading guilty, Francisco admitted to carjacking an Uber and Lyft driver who was also a mother of two minor children in 2022.

Francisco further admitted that while carjacking and killing the victim, he shot her several times and then disposed of her body before fleeing with the vehicle.

The sentencing is currently set for Jan. 27, 2026.
