Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has issued instructions to all District Magistrates (DMs) to take swift and stringent action against “infiltrators” and “illegal immigrants”. Emphasising that law and order, national security, and social harmony remain top priorities, he stated that any illegal activity will not be tolerated.

District administrations have been directed to identify illegal immigrants residing in their areas and take action in accordance with the law.

A government spokesperson informed that the Chief Minister has issued instructions to set up temporary detention centres in each district to lodge identified infiltrators. Also, foreign nationals found living illegally will be kept in these centres until the completion of the verification process.
