Paradise Valley has long fought to preserve its character by putting tighter regulations on short-term rentals, and the upcoming legislative session could test those efforts.

During a recent town study session, officials shared that the League of Arizona Cities and Towns wants more tools for municipalities and how they deal with short-term rentals. The league plans to pursue legislation during the 2026 session to allow cities to further regulate short-term rentals, particularly putting a cap on the number of short-term rental licenses cities and towns may issue.

The town of Paradise Valley would support this, officials said.
