KINGSTON, N.Y. — Controversial school district Trustee Anthony Fitzpatrick’s release of reports and email correspondence earlier this year has strengthened support for proposed changes in ethics rules that could ultimately have him removed from the Board of Education.
Discussions about proposed policy revisions at a board meeting on Wednesday, Nov. 19, tiptoed around specific incidents. After the meeting, however, Fitzpatrick and board President Marie Anderson agreed that draft language in the code of ethics would cover the release of personnel investigative findings.
“That was a choice that a board member made that has to be dealt with,” Anderson said. “We have to have a code of ethics for the board and for the district.”
