A major Cardiff route has been closed in both directions due to an ongoing police incident. The A48 Eastern Avenue near Gabalfa is currently closed.

Officers from South Wales Police have blocked the road between the Gabalfa roundabout and the A48 Llanedeyrn roundabout westbound. A spokesman for the force said the road is expected to remain closed for some time.

Members of the public are being asked to avoid the area and use alternative routes where possible.
