The BCCI selectors on Sunday announced the ODI and T20I squads for the ongoing South Africa series with KL Rahul set to lead India in the 50-over format after the injury to regular skipper Shubman Gill in the Kolkata Test last week. Stalwarts Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma retained their place in the squad after their exploits in the Australia series while pacer Jasprit Bumrah was rested.
Wicketkeeper batter Rishabh Pant is the deputy of Rahul for the series while Ruturaj Gaikwad was also selected for the series. Ravindra Jadeja also made his return to the 50-over team after not playing in the Australia series. Apart from Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj and Axar Patel , who took part in the 2-match Test series vs South Africa were also rested.
The first ODI will take place in Ranchi on Nove
