FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WPTA) - One person is in police custody after authorities responded to a domestic disturbance on Fort Wayne’s south side Sunday.

According to the Fort Wayne Police Department (FWPD), officers received a report of a domestic disturbance in the 1100 block of Wildwood Avenue around 4:45 a.m.

When officers arrived on the scene, they say they attempted to make contact with the people inside the residence to have them exit.

During the investigation, officers say they made contact with an individual who appeared to be in distress and unable to exit the residence.

Investigators then requested the assistance of the FWPD Emergency Services Team, Crisis Response Team, and Air Support Unit.
