STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — A beloved Asian dessert is being recalled for undeclared ingredients after being distributed across the nation.
Brooklyn’s own Prime Food Processing is recalling two kinds of lava buns for including milk in its ingredients but not listing it in the allergens on the packaging.
According to the Food and Drug Administration , “The milk in these products is derived from unsalted butter listed in the ingredient statement. People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to milk risk a serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume these products.”
The buns — both Salted Egg Yolk and Green Tea flavored — were sold in grocery stores from April 2, 2025, to Nov. 14, 2025.
The Salted Egg Yolk Lava Buns, packaged in an orange wrapper, have a UPC reading as: #
