Michigan State Police responded to a bomb threat directed toward U.S. Sen. Elissa Slotkin’s Oakland County home Friday, according to Slotkin’s office.
Slotkin, a Democrat, was not at her home when Michigan State Police initially responded to the bomb threat and searched the residence. The police agency confirmed nobody was in danger, a Slotkin spokesperson said in a post on social media platform X .
“Senator Slotkin is deeply grateful for the swift and professional response by Oakland County and Michigan State Police,” the spokesperson said in a statement.
U.S. Capitol Police will continue investigating the incident and “hopefully hold accountable those responsible,” the statement said.
