Portland police intervened in a handful of scuffles at the South Portland Immigration and Customs Enforcement facility on Saturday night.
Officers arrested one person, 51-year-old Preston Reyes of Gresham, on suspicion of misdemeanor harassment after they allege he spit on another person. Reyes initially ran away from the scene, police said in a news release, but was later arrested by Portland police.
Police also saw multiple people “spraying each other with irritant spray,” the news release said.
Officers said they interviewed several people for “potential future prosecution.”
