JACKSON COUNTY, Ill. (WSIL) -- The Jackson County Sheriff's Office and Emergency Management Agency alerted the public on Sunday about a cybersecurity incident that affected the CodeRED mass notification system they use.
County officials shared information which said the attack was attributed to an organized cybercriminal group which targeted the OnSolve CodeRED environment specifically. Officials stated that while data was removed, there's no indication it has been published online yet.
"The impacted dataset may contain contact information of OnSolve CodeRED users: name, address, email address, phone numbers, and/or associated passwords," Grégoire Pinton, Integrated Risk Management Managing Director stated. They advised users to change passwords if used elsewhere.
