LOUISVILLE, Ky. — For thousands of people in Louisville, Saturday, Nov. 22 was all about German culture. The German-American Club held its third annual Christkindlmarkt, where booths displayed artworks and cultural collections to celebrate the city’s rich German heritage.

Dozens of German traditional beer steins were displayed at the Christkindlmarkt in Louisville.

“I buy and sell the old German beer steins, and I’ve been doing this about 30 years,” said Lee Oberhausen, a member of the German-American Club.

Throughout the years, Oberhausen said he’s acquired nearly 500 steins. With each stein, a story dating back to the late 1800s.
