Shore Regional captured its sixth state championship in program history with a 2-1 victory over Verona in the NJSIAA Group 1 state final on Sunday night at Franklin High School.
Senior forward Jenna Eichenbaum gave the Blue Devils a 1-0 lead with a long-distance shot from the right side in the 35th minute. She added a goal from 28 yards on a direct kick in the 52nd minute for a 2-0 lead.
Verona cut the deficit in half on a goal by Emerson Garrett in the 60th minute but Shore prevented the equalizer to hold on and win its first state title since 2021.
