ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. —
When police officers went to a Maverik Gas Station on Bluewater Road NW to check on a man just before midnight on Saturday, they found him bleeding and in bad shape. They tried to keep him alive, but soon he was dead, an Albuquerque Police Department news release said.
An employee at the gas station told police that a witness had seen the suspect punch the victim in the face and leave.
Surveillance video gave a more complete account of what happened: two men exchanged words, the victim extended an empty hand, and the suspect punched him in the face four times, then got in his car and drove away, the release said.
