ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) — Georgia Sen. Raphael Warnock on Sunday called for the immediate firing of Robert F. Kennedy Jr.
In a social media post, Warnock said, “Secretary Kennedy has spent his time in office spreading doubt about vaccines. Now measles is back. He is a threat to our health and must be fired immediately.”
Kennedy, the U.S. Secretary of Health and Human Services, told The New York Times in a Friday interview that he personally directed the CDC last Wednesday to update its website, contradicting its longtime guidance that vaccines do not cause autism.
His comments provide clarity into who directed the CDC’s website change, after many current and former staffers at the agency were surprised to see new published guidance on Wednesday that defies scientific consensus
