But with this warning also came a fallout that many passengers thought was a "scam" and the "funniest" they've ever encountered.

Travelers took to social media to express their disappointment over Amtrak's increasing ticket prices, particularly for Thanksgiving, when people are traveling across the country to see their families. On X (formerly Twitter), netizens said that Amtrak prices are suddenly going up by $300. One user said that she paid $25 for an Amtrak ticket, but it went up to $360 the following day for the same route.
