A girl who went missing from Islamabad 17 years ago has been found at the Edhi Centre in Karachi. Kiran, now 27 years old, was reunited with her father on Monday (today).

Kiran recounted that she had gone out to get ice cream all those years ago, but got lost. She said someone took her to the Edhi Centre in Islamabad before she was brought to the Karachi centre by Bilquis Edhi.

Sabah Faisal Edhi, wife of the foundation’s chairperson, said that several trips had been arranged to Islamabad to trace Kiran’s parents, but they were never found.

Abdul Majeed, Kiran’s father, said that after his daughter went missing, the family searched extensively but found no trace of her. He added that the hope of finding Kiran had nearly faded when, suddenly, police contacted the family and informed them
