PROVIDENCE − Getting fed − and fed very well − is one of the unadvertised perks of winning a $20,391-a-year seat in Rhode Island's part-time legislature .
Legislative leaders spent $227,108.57 in taxpayer dollars − down from $235,000 a year ago − feeding the 113 senators and representatives during this year's January-to-June General Assembly session. They spent another $47,264 keeping them hydrated.
