Freezing rain has been forecast for parts of Scotland as temperatures are set to plunge well below 0C. The rare weather phenomenon is liquid rain that freezes instantly on impact and is expected along the west coast late on Wednesday night, with maps suggesting a stretch from Armadale to Dumbarton. ‌

Most of Scotland is expected to see lows between -1C and -3C on Wednesday morning (November 26), with the Met Office warning that freezing rain can create dangerous conditions on roads and pavements, bringing travel delays and hazardous conditions. ‌
