Several swans have died and more have been euthanised after a potential bird flu outbreak at ponds in Dundee.
The Scottish Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals ( SSPCA ) were alerted to reports of swans having fallen ill at Stobsmuir (Swannie) Ponds , which are home to the popular resident swans.
Locals had also raised complaints about the water at the park on Pitkerro Road, fearing it was affecting the birds' health.
Animal welfare officers attended and found a number of swans had died. Officers also had to euthanise a number of cygnets that were "presenting with symptoms consistent with a range of potential illnesses" including avian flu.
