If you did not know the name David Jones Garcia before last summer, you’re not alone.

David Jones Garcia played in three different colleges before going undrafted in 2024. He spent a few months on with two-way contracts in Philadelphia and Utah, but saw only minor G-League action interspersed with stints with the Mexico City Capitanes.

Last summer, he joined the San Antonio Spurs in Summer League earning All-Summer League first team honors. The recognition nabbed him the final two-way contract for the Spurs despite a logjam with ball-handlers.

Jones Garcia didn’t just have a drive to make his way into the NBA, he had a promise to fulfill.
