MOBILE, Ala. (WDAM) - University of Southern Mississippi quarterback Braylon Braxton returned to the starting lineup Saturday and turned in a game for the record books against the University of South Alabama.

Unfortunately for the Golden Eagles, it wasn’t enough.

Senior USA running back Kentrel Bullock, who played at Columbia High School and Jones College, keyed a Jaguars’ ground game that ran all over USM in a 42-35 victory at at Hancock Whitney Stadium.

USM’s second loss in a row set up a winner-take-all, showdown game next Saturday with Troy University for the Sun Belt Conference West Division championship.

Both teams come into the 2:30 p.m. kickoff at 7-4 overall, 5-2 in SBC play.

Troy snapped a two-game skid Saturday with a 31-19 victory over visiting Georgia State University.
