NEW ORLEANS — Victoria Cox, the woman who pleaded guilty to helping convicted kidnapper and murderer Daniel Callihan in the abduction of two young sisters and the murder of one sister earlier this year, will spend the next 40 years in prison.
On Monday, Judge Winston Kidd in Hinds County, Mississippi, sentenced her to 40 years on the murder charge and 25 years on the kidnapping charge, with both to serve concurrently. The sexual battery charge was dropped, according to Hinds County court records.
Investigators say Callihan picked up Cox while he was driving to Mississippi with 4-year-old Erin Brunett and her 6-year-old sister. At the time of his arrest, he confessed his guilt to reporters live on WWL.
