A This Morning star "didn't know what to do" as he opened up on a heartbreaking health battle.
At the start of Monday's (November 24) live show, hosts Cat Deeley and Ben Shephard spoke to regular commentators Gyles Brandreth and Camilla Tominey about the day's topical news stories.
During the segment, they marked Addiction Awareness Week after the Princess of Wales called for an end to the "stigma" surrounding addiction, and urged people to offer "empathy and support" to those dependent on alcohol, drugs or gambling.
Gyles then revealed the struggles that his sister faced with alcohol, saying: "The more we talk about it, the better it is. That prompts me to talk about my sister, who basically was saved by joining Alcoholics Anonymous.
