Shane Bowen has been relieved of his duties, and outside linebackers coach Charlie Bullen will take over his role as the Giants' defensive coordinator.
The Giants lost their sixth consecutive game on Sunday in Detroit, falling to 2-10 on the season. Bowen's departure marks another significant change to the coaching staff. Brian Daboll was dismissed two weeks ago, with Mike Kafka taking over as interim head coach.
Kafka then named tight ends coach Tim Kelly to fill his previous role as offensive coordinator.
Bowen was in his second season as defensive coordinator, a position he previously held for three years with the Tennessee Titans.
