NEW BOSTON — Ian Petrick has dreamed of being a dentist since he was a young boy.
“When I was about 3, I went to the dentist,” he recalled. “My pediatric dentist was really awesome. It’s weird, but ever since then I wanted to know more about my own mouth.”
He probably won’t be granted college credit for it, but Petrick has spent the last four years drilling soccer balls into the net.
The New Boston Huron star, who scored a school-record 124 career goals, has been named Monroe County Region Boys Soccer Player of the Year for the second straight season.
Petrick finished his senior season with 36 goals and 8 assists and earned a spot on the Michigan Soccer Coaches’ Association All-State first team.
