PORTSMOUTH — Portsmouth High School girls soccer head coach Mickey Smith recently announced he was stepping from his position after a five-year tenure with the Clippers.
Smith guided Portsmouth to a 58-15-7 record in his five years, including 6-5 in the playoffs. Portsmouth advanced to the Division I championship game in 2023, losing to Timberlane, 1-0. Portsmouth also advanced to the semifinal round in the 2021 and 2022 seasons.
Portsmouth went 11-3-3 this year, falling to Bedford in the quarterfinal round.
"We appreciate all of the time, effort and sacrifice that Coach Smith has put into the girls soccer program," Portsmouth athletic director Tom Kozikowski said. "He fulfilled all expectations of what a great high school coach should be and will definitely be missed. We wish him all t
