A driver who struck and killed a man lying on a Bronx street Sunday night fled the scene of the crash, police said.
The incident happened around 10:40 p.m. on Grand Concourse near East Burnside Avenue in Mount Hope, according to NYPD officials. The driver was heading south in the left lane of Grand Concourse when he hit the man, whom police have not publicly identified.
A witness called 911 and emergency medical workers took the man to St. Barnabas Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, officials said.
Police said the investigation is ongoing and they have not made any arrests. They did not have an immediate description of the driver's car.
