An East Lothian schoolgirl climbed Ben Nevis during a snowstorm for an incredible reason. Faye Moffat, 5, scaled the mountain with her dad Craig on Saturday, raising funds for the Glasgow Children's Hospital Charity - which helped save her cousin Owen and her friend Lucy's lives.

Faye, from Prestonpans, helped carry the overnight gear and braved the cold winds before setting up camp on November 22 - before a final push on Sunday. The pair reached the peak at 3pm on November 24, before a 10 hour descent back during heavy rain.

Speaking on the JustGiving page, which has raised around £1,500, Faye spoke about doing the challenge to help the girls and boys who need it most. She said: "My cousin Owen and friend Lucy are both alive because of the hospital and charity.
