A Spring Lake motorcyclist was killed in a wreck in downtown Fayetteville on Saturday, Nov. 22.

According to the Fayetteville Police Department, Jackson Corum, 21, was operating a Honda motorcycle east on Person Street when he struck the traffic circle at the intersection of Old Wilmington Road.

Corum was pronounced dead at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center. His passenger, Jasmine Islam, 20, of Fayetteville, sustained minor injuries in the crash, according to police.

Corum's death marks the 27th traffic fatality in the city limits this year, the fourth this month, and the ninth involving a motorcycle.
