SEYMOUR, Tenn. — The Seymour Volunteer Fire Department said its chief is retiring in the spring of 2026.
Chief John Linsenbigler joined the department in 1996. He started his career in 1982 as a reserve firefighter with Rural Metro, where he served until 1985. He continued with Rural Metro Ambulance from 1985 to 1989.
In 1989, he joined the Johnson Bible College Fire Brigade and was the chief there from 1995 to 2012, the department said. He was invited to serve as a member of the Seymour Fire Department in 1996.
Over the years, Linsenbigler served as a lieutenant in 1999, a captain in 2004, assistant chief in 2008, deputy chief in 2010, executive administrator in 2014, and chief beginning in 2017.
