A Sudbury couple and their young daughter have spent the last few months far away from their home, their family and friends, but they certainly haven’t been forgotten.

Christopher Granzie and Bailey Martin have been living in Toronto since early June while three-year-old Athena has undergone treatment for a rare, aggressive form of cancer.

They credit an outpouring of financial and moral support from loved ones and even strangers, as much as their little one’s cheerful demeanour, for helping them through such a stressful time.

“I don’t know how we would have made it through all this without that, to be honest,” said Granzie, reached late last week as the family prepared to finally return to the Nickel City.
