VAN BUREN -- A registered sex offender has pleaded not guilty and is set for a June jury trial after his arrest related to working with tweens at the local public library.
Nathan L. Matulewicz, 52, of the 3100 block of Dora Road in Van Buren, is charged with failure to comply with registration and reporting requirements for a sex offender, according to Crawford County Circuit Court records.
He was arrested Oct. 30 after authorities learned he volunteered at the Van Buren Public Library and taught a class for tweens Sept. 8, according to an arrest affidavit from the Van Buren Police Department.
Matulewicz pleaded not guilty Nov. 5.
His next scheduled court appearance is April 29 for a status hearing and a jury trial is set for June 16, the court docket shows.
