Most Rhode Islanders will get some help on their electric bills this winter under a plan drawn up by state utilities regulators.
The Public Utilities Commission on Nov. 24 unanimously approved the plan that for the typical customer of Rhode Island Energy , the state's dominant utility, will amount to a $32 bill credit for each of the months of January, February and March of 2026.
