The quarterback situation for the Minnesota Vikings has just gotten a lot more complicated.

During his Monday morning press conference, head coach Kevin O’Connell told reporters that quarterback J.J. McCarthy is now in the league’s concussion protocol, and that it’s “too early to tell” who the team’s quarterback will be when the team travels to the West Coast this Sunday to take on the Seattle Seahawks.

McCarthy played the entire game at Lambeau Field on Sunday when the Vikings lost to the Green Bay Packers, 23-6. O’Connell said that McCarthy presented concussion symptoms on the flight home last night and was examined by team medical personnel, who decided to put him into the protocol.
