Members of Calgary city council paid tribute Monday to former Ward 10 alderman Ray Clark, who passed away last week at the age of 80.

Mayor Jeromy Farkas acknowledged Clark’s passing at the beginning of council’s budget deliberation week.

“Like many of us, he immigrated to Canada with his family, in 1957, and they settled in Calgary,” Farkas said.

Clark served four terms as the Ward 10 representative on council, from 1983 to 1995.

He also ran for mayor in 1998, finishing runner-up to Al Duerr, and then again in 2001, finishing fourth.
