A flight heading into Edinburgh declared a 'mid-air emergency' on Monday evening. The Jet2 plane left Tenerife South Airport at around 1.55pm on November 24.
On it's approach into the capital, it was one of the most tracked flights globally on FlightRadar24 as it showed a general emergency code. The exact nature of the incident is not yet known.
Flight LS728 arrived in Edinburgh at around 6.30pm, around 15 minutes earlier than scheduled, reports the Daily Record .
During the flight's approach to the capital, the pilots initiated a procedure known as squawking 7700 which means a general emergency has been declared. It can cover a range of scenarios including a technical or medical emergency.
