CONCORD, N.H. —
Fifty years after Judy Lord was found dead in Concord, New Hampshire, investigators said Monday that they know who is responsible.
Lord, 22, was found dead in her apartment on May 20, 1975, and her child was in the next room. She was last seen alive the night before, when she left a volleyball game that was being played in a common area of the apartment complex.
NH Attorney General John Formella said Ernest Theodore Gable, who was Lord's neighbor in 1975, was identified as the killer of the young mother.
Gable died in 1987 from a stabbing in Los Angeles. Investigators said he had a history of burglary and a pattern of violence.
According to the investigators, a flawed forensic report incorrectly concluded that hair samples found at the scene did not match Gable. The
