At least one Toronto LRT line is expected to open this year.
The Finch West LRT will start service on Dec. 7, the TTC chair Jamaal Myers told the Star on Monday. It will be Line 6 on Toronto’s transit system and will be the city’s first new rail line to open in more than a decade, beating the Eglinton Crosstown LRT which started construction eight years earlier.
Maps and bus routes throughout the TTC system have already been updated in preparation for the new Line 6, though for the past several weeks the public transit agency has been unclear about whether it would meet that date.
The 18-stop, $2.5-billion LRT line will run from Finch West station in the east to Humber College in the west and will replace the 36 Finch West bus. Construction on it began in 2019, and it was originally
