GREENVILLE, N.C. (WITN) - Gas prices have dropped 3 cents per gallon over the last week in the state as millions prepare for Thanksgiving travel, according to GasBuddy data.
The current state average sits at $2.78 per gallon, with AAA predicting 82 million people will travel at least 50 miles from home during Thanksgiving week. Of those travelers, at least 73 million will drive to their destinations.
Drivers in Greenville found prices below the state average at multiple locations Monday. Both Sheetz and Duck Thru offered gas at $2.58 per gallon, while Circle K charged $2.73 per gallon for cash or card purchases. Speedway prices were $2.65 per gallon.
