WALNUT CREEK — Dozens of affordable homes are in the works for a Walnut Creek site where existing apartments would have to be demolished to pave the way for a new residential project.
The 87-unit housing development would be built at 150-170 Sierra Drive in Walnut Creek. The 29-unit Sierra Garden Apartments complex now occupies the development location, according to the Apartment Finder website.
Berkeley-based Satellite Housing Associates owns the 1.4-acre site and intends to develop the new affordable homes project, Walnut Creek planning documents show.
The project would be 100% affordable, according to the proposal.
