FOREST ACRES, S.C. — Forest Acres residents will soon see long-awaited improvements at one of the city’s most beloved outdoor spaces. City officials announced that Citadel Park will close December 1, 2025, through March 31, 2026, to allow for a full slate of renovation work—the park’s first major upgrade in decades.
While the news may disappoint frequent park-goers, city leaders emphasized that they intentionally kept the park open through the Thanksgiving holiday and scheduled construction for the colder winter months to minimize disruption.
