The Waverly-Shell Rock, Denver and Janesville girls wrestling teams competed on November 21 and 22 at the Cliff Keen Independence Girls Invite. In a massive tournament with 38 schools in attendance, two area wrestlers were able to take home gold, and one area wrestler took home silver.

Both area tournament champions came from the Go-Hawk wrestling team, where a pair of one-time state champions finished at the top of their division. At 125 pounds, Camille Schult picked up three falls, a technical fall, and a major decision on her road to first place. During her five matches, Schult outscored her opponents 41-1.
The other Go-Hawk to finish in first was Amalia Djoumessi at 170 pounds. Djoumessi picked up five falls in the tournament, four of which came in the first perio
