LINCOLN, Neb. (Nebraska Athletics) - The Big Ten Conference announced Monday afternoon that Braden Frager was named Big Ten Freshman of the Week.
Frager averaged 18.0 points and 7.0 rebounds per game while shooting 72% from the field, including 55% from 3-point range, in helping Nebraska to a 2-0 week. The Lincoln Southwest product was chosen as the MVP of the Hall of Fame Classic for his performance in helping the Huskers to a 6-0 start.
In the championship game against Kansas State, Frager had 16 points and six rebounds in 20 minutes off the bench in NU’s 86-85 win. He posted his second 20-point game of the season in the first-round win over New Mexico, finishing with 20 points on 6-of-8 shooting, including 4-of-6 from 3-point range, and grabbed a season-high eight rebounds.
